Charizard

This Charizard belongs to the first English release of Pokémon’s Base Set in 1999, pairing Mitsuhiro Arita’s original illustration with the early shadowless frame. Its “Thin Stamp” designation refers specifically to the slender numeral “1” in the first-edition emblem—a small printing variation that collectors distinguish from the broader numeral on thick-stamp copies. Counterintuitively, the surrounding “EDITION” lettering is heavier on the thin-stamp version.
