Blastoise

Blastoise made its Pokémon TCG debut in Japan’s Expansion Pack, released in October 1996, more than two years before the English Base Set. Its illustration by Ken Sugimori established the original card’s appearance, while fellow starter evolutions Charizard and Venusaur featured artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita. Together, the three brought the fully evolved Kanto starters into the game’s first holographic lineup.
