Sir Gawain

Sir Gawain appears in Elvira Shakirova’s 11-card Gilded group, where gold foiling and an illuminated-manuscript style unite Arthur, Guinevere, eight knights, and the Holy Grail. In the larger composition, this figure’s gaze helps direct the sequence toward the Grail.
